Q1) What makes a truly sustainable brand?
ANS) "A truly sustainable brand must include many parts of a business. In the case of a fashion brand, you must consider your supply chain, sourcing, product, waste, carbon footprint, as well as the community and environment in which you operate."
Q2) How do you run a successful sustainable business?
ANS) It's a significant challenge. At Sustain Co. we've set goals for ourselves to attain along the way - and we're only getting started. We'll be the first to admit that we're still learning. However, we believe that in order to become sustainable, you must challenge yourself and seek out alternative alternatives - there is a lot to learn along the way. When it comes to obtaining our styles, our brand beliefs are to always choose the more responsible choice accessible."
Q5) What has been your biggest struggle in starting a sustainable fashion brand?
ANS) It takes far longer to establish a sustainable fashion brand than it does to create a fast fashion line; we take our supply chain process extremely carefully and test our garments several times before launching. We take action on a long-term strategy based on a sustainable environmental mindset before launching a new line. From our handcrafted accessories to our finished clothing, we consider every step of our manufacturing process. We make certain that we are employing high-quality, long-lasting materials and that we are dealing with the correct individuals. This takes a lot of time and effort for a tiny firm.
When you're establishing a sustainable fashion brand with no expertise or knowledge of how to operate a business, it's far more difficult to find the proper people to work with who share your vision. I've learnt not to place too much faith in people I've just met and to conduct more thorough background checks on their talents and reputation.
Q4) What is your advice to someone starting a sustainable brand of their own?
ANS) In the months prior to your business's launch, conduct thorough research. Take on internships with start-up businesses to obtain more experience and exposure in your field. If you're about to give up, take a deep breath and recall why you started this journey in the first place. Take a moment to appreciate how far you've come.
